To Hell With It

It's been a while since I uploaded any artwork, as I decided to take a break.
The past year I worked, as a lighting artist, with an amazing team to publish a game called To Hell With It on steam. It was a wonderful learning experience to create lighting for a published game. While it was an overall amazing experience, there were always new issues to tackle and so much to learn to ensure that the lighting met everyone's expectations and didn't hinder the performance of the game.
I worked on three main levels in the span of 10 months. I made sure each one gave a different mood and feel than the other to provide each level its own individuality. For Sintral Park, I went with warmer tones such as pink and yellows to contrast with the foliage and help the various assets stand out. For Deadlight District, I decided to design a cyberpunk style of lighting with heavy fog and bright neon colors. For the last level, Triple 6 Turnpike, I replicated the feel of a gloomy urban city covered in smog.
To see the game I worked on get positive reviews on steam and be enjoyed by thousands of players was the icing on the cake.
I couldn't have done this without the help of Becky Lin, Whitey Lowe, Doug Hawthorn, Dominic Austin, Ryan Stonecipher, and Dan Spence for creating the wonderful environments that make the game.
